Before the documentary “Top of the World,” I had the pleasure of meeting Chef Michael Lomonaco. We talked about New York City, New England, where I grew up, and the World Trade Center, where he used to be the Executive Chef and Director of Windows on the World Restaurant. At lunch, I got to tell Chef about Christmas Pop-Up the film that I had seen in Austin and that it was culinary related and that there was a Bucatini recipe in it and he told me that “That’s great. Bucatini is my thing!” he also wished me luck in my screenwriting endeavors. Paola Hernández-Jiao interviewed him after the film. The documentary was a great tribute to the people that worked in that restaurant every day, and to those that perished in the 9/11 terrorist attack It’s now being shown on HBO Max.
